Naturopathic FAQ

Common questions about Naturopathy and how I can help

My clients ask lots of questions about Naturopathy so I thought you might find them helpful too. If your question isn’t here, please contact me. I’m always delighted to help.

Naturopathy is a modality that views and treats your body as a whole system, not just a sum of body parts. It acknowledges physical, mental and emotional aspects of health, healing and wellbeing.

Naturopathy takes into account previous and current health history, pathology and functional testing, diet and lifestyle, stress management, mental health, movement and exercise and sleep, and treats using a range of tools which may include: diet and lifestyle advice, nutritional supplementation, herbal extracts, energetic essences and homeopathy and/or mind-body practices.

Women are a beautifully intertwined system of cells, tissues, and organs; of pressure systems and osmotically balanced fluids; of electrical currents and hormonal surges, with each cell to system connecting in a harmonious dance, keeping our entire body in balance. As such, we deserve more than a one-size-fits-all approach (or pill) to our health.

As everything in the human system is connected, our physical state is directly impacted by our mental and emotional beliefs, sub-conscious patterning and past conditioning.

By reconnecting to our innate, cyclical body wisdom and wholistic treatments, Naturopathy offers a beautifully harmonising framework for women’s health.

Naturopathy is for anyone ready to take ownership of their health by embracing the innate power of their body and of nature. I work with women who are open to exploring their own body wisdom and healing potential.
Yes. Perimenopause doesn’t have to turn your life upside down. A naturopath can help relieve the symptoms of perimenopause by guiding you through dietary and lifestyle changes and supplements as well as guidance around body-identical hormone therapy (BHT). Natural treatments and/or BHT can set you up for long-term wellness and help you feel like yourself again. You can stop the emotional rollercoaster, the flushes, the insomnia and the weight gain and feel energised and empowered.
Yes. Naturopathic treatment can set women up for long-term bone, brain, heart, emotional and sexual health in Menopause. It’s a new season in life that should be celebrated, embraced and most of all, enjoyed.
Yes. A naturopath can help treat the root-cause of Endometriosis and offer treatments and advice that may help to reduce symptoms of pain, flow, mood, fertility and disease progression. Naturopathic treatment for Endometriosis may address bacterial infection, inflammation and gut issues, environmental and lifestyle impacts and hormonal management.
Naturopathic treatment can help reverse Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) by treating the fundamental causes rather than simply treating the symptoms. Outcomes may include: coming off the Pill and restoring your natural cycle, reversing insulin resistance and improving or resolving battles with acne, hair loss, infertility and weight gain.
The first consultation is where we get to know each other. When you book your appointment, you’ll receive an online health history questionnaire to complete prior to our session so our time together is as efficient as possible. We’ll talk through your history, your symptoms and any testing and treatments you’ve tried before. Once I understand your history, your needs, and the outcomes you’re looking for, we can design a realistic treatment plan for you.

I don’t offer in-person consultations. Client sessions are conducted via Zoom or Skype so wherever you are in the world, I can help you get your health and life back on track.

It depends on you and your approach to your health care. Typically, we start with two consultations. The first to take your case history and review previous testing, discuss further testing options and outline initial treatment recommendations. The second is digging deeper into additional tests, reviewing progress, and tweaking your treatment plan.

Most of my clients choose to see me regularly (monthly or every few months) as part of their ongoing health priority. This could be helping women coming off the Pill and getting their cycle working naturally or supporting women through Endometriosis or Perimenopause and Menopause so it’s a positive and liberating experience. I’d love to help you navigate your own health journey for as long as you wish.

Naturopathy is not covered by Medicare. But it is covered by some private health insurers in some countries. You’ll need to check the details of your policy.
  • In Australia? Through me, delivered via Australia Post or courier. If you’re a Sydney-local, you are welcome to collect in-person.
  • In New Zealand, UK or Europe? I use online dispensaries where you can purchase recommended supplements.
  • Living elsewhere? I’ll suggest brands that you can purchase online.
I will explain the pathology and testing process during your consult because every country has different procedures. If you already have tests you would like to discuss in your first consult, please feel free to email them at least one day prior to your appointment.
